Social Skills Program for children ages 3 to 14 years old

The Keany Associates Social Skills program has been specially designed for the grade-school-age client, who may still display behaviors that impede his or her access to the community. Group sessions and parent/caregiver training will be provided on site, at our Westchester facility.

This program will accommodate children who may have been asked to leave traditional social skills groups. Our ABA-trained group leaders will teach lessons on a variety of topics, such as Relationship Types and Labels, Personal Space and Boundaries, and Feelings and Communication, while integrating any needed behavioral supports.

Our Social Skills program centers around:

Intervention plans created specifically to meet each child where they are and optimally support their growth.

Incorporating play-based theories to help make learning fun and exciting.

Using a strengths-based model to help each child focus on increasing his/her independence, decision making, resilience and overall well-being.

Providing an empathetic and caring staff that creates an environment of compassion, understanding and support.

Using virtual tools to assist children unable to attend in-person sessions, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through short virtual one-on-one sessions during the week, enhancing and expanding the practice of each skill in preparation for group sessions.

Eliminating the idea of, “Let’s just move on.” At Keany Associates, we engage children so they are not left behind. Each activity and task are adjusted and custom designed to meet the needs of each child, building a foundation of learning and promoting lifelong growth & progress.
