Philosophy

The team at Keany Associates and Brite Kids provide engaging, dynamic therapies rooted in current best practices in the field of developmental health services. Our clinicians are highly trained individuals committed to helping our clients reach their developmental milestones and personal goals.

Vendoring Information

Our clients are situated throughout the greater Los Angeles area and represent a variety of geographic locations, ranging from Woodland Hills to Gardena, and Marina Del Rey to West Hollywood. While many of our clients come to us through the Westside Regional Center (WRC), we are vendored for all of California by the State’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to provide Behavior Intervention, Infant Development, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Social Skills services to individuals.

Meet the Leadership Team

Jen Keany

MS, MFT
Executive Director

As Executive Director, Jennifer Keany, MS, MFT, supervises all Keany Associates programs and has worked with developmentally delayed individuals since 1991. Upon finishing her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1995 and subsequently becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (#MFC38484), Jennifer started Keany Associates and Brite Kids to serve the special needs clients of Western Los Angeles County. She oversees each client’s therapeutic program and manages the needs of the staff so that they are equipped with what they need to help your child be successful. In addition to providing direct service to clients, Jennifer offers lectures to professional and parent groups about the role of behavior intervention in a treatment program.

Jon Roos

MA, MFT, BCBA
Clinical Director

Jon Roos, MA, MFT, BCBA, holds an advanced degree in Clinical Psychology and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#MFC52930) and behavior analyst. As Clinical Director, Jon oversees the therapeutic programs for all Behavior Intervention, Social Skills, and Infant Development clients. Jon stays abreast of current best practices in the industry in order to develop and deliver cutting-edge training and provide ongoing support to the staff at Keany Associates. His enthusiastic approach to professional education offers the staff new and creative ways to acquire and implement vital clinical skills.

Carrie Roos

MA
Director of Infant Development

Carrie Roos, Director of Infant Development, helped create and now directs both Brite Kids Infant Development Programs at Keany Associates. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Science, and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), which uniquely qualifies her to work with children from birth-5 years of age. Carrie has worked with infants and toddlers with developmental delays professionally since 2003. She is formally trained in the implementation of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and is a CERTIFIED HAPPIEST BABY EDUCATOR (CHBE) through Dr. Harvey Karp’s Happiest Baby program. Additionally, she is a member of the Infant Development Association (IDA) of California.

Marlyna Wagreich

MS, OTR/L, C/NDT
Director of Occupational Therapy

Marlyna Wagreich is a licensed and registered occupational therapist (#OT12087) with extensive training and experience in child development. Graduate of the University of California Los Angeles, Marlyna holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in developmental psychology. Marlyna received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She has fifteen years of experience working with children with special needs, ten of which have been solely dedicated in the field of occupational therapy. Marlyna specializes in behavioral strategies and sensory integration, and is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT). Marlyna feels incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the population of children whom she treats, and to be able to inspire growth in and learn from the children and their families.

Bobby Castillo

MSW, BCAT
Social Skills Coordinator

Bobby Castillo, the Social Skills Program Coordinator, received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and his Masters in Social Work, specializing in Community Mental Health, from California State Dominguez Hills. Bobby has been working with Jennifer Keany and her team for over 9 years, to support individuals and the families of those with special needs. Bobby has over 9 years of practice in the Behavior intervention Program and 4 years of practice in Infant Development Early intervention. Bobby now coordinates the Keany Associates Social Skills Program. The Keany Associates Social Skills Program was specifically designed to meet each child where they are at and optimally support their growth. Bobby enjoys going above and beyond for his clients and families. Bobby’s goal is to create an environment of compassion, empathy, and nurturing.
